At full power, our two BK15-3 heaters could treat about 1,200 sq. ft. at once — but they'd need more electricity than many apartment panels (often limited to 100 A) can supply while your fridge and everyday appliances keep running. Treating one room at a time keeps your home powered, so you can stay.

Have fire sprinklers?
Each sprinkler head has to be covered with cold ice-packs for the whole treatment. Our cooling cover package puts an insulated cooler over each head, held in place by a spring-loaded pole.

You raise the room to 60 °C (140 °F) and hold it until every surface — including inside mattresses, furniture and baseboards — stays above 50 °C (122 °F) for at least 3 hours.

Fire sprinklers?
They must be covered with cold ice-packs during the treatment. Cooling covers are $100 per rental (not per day) and included with Full Service. Tell us when you book.
Renting? Bring ID
The agreement is with the owner or an eligible occupant. Bring two pieces of ID (one a passport or driver’s licence) and two proofs of address (one a current utility bill).

Can I stay home during the treatment?
Yes. You treat one room at a time, so there's no need to move out or book a hotel — just stay out of the room while it's being heated.
Do I need any experience?
No. We set up your first room and give you one-on-one instruction, our online guides cover every step, and we watch your temperatures remotely.
How long does it take?
We recommend 8–10 hours per room, from setup to cool-down. The standard rental is 2 days; extra days are $100 each, up to 6.
Will the heat damage my things?
Room air is held at up to 60 °C (140 °F) — the limit our heaters are regulated to, and hot enough to kill bed bugs at every life stage. Most household electronics tolerate around 65 °C, above that limit.
Do I have to throw anything away?
No. Heat reaches bed bugs inside furniture and mattresses, so infested items don't need to be thrown away.
When is Full Service the better choice?
Only when renting isn't possible — for example, if you're away from home. It costs $1,300, more than twice a rental, and covers up to 1,000 sq. ft. It takes 2 days with several technician visits, the unit must be fully or partially evacuated, our technicians need access to your home, and it's available only near our North Shore office.
